What is the OVT score?

The OVT score is a number that shows the number of times a keyword (with or without extension) was searched in the Yahoo! Network during a particular month. This score is an indirect indicator that shows whether a keyword is popular or not, or whether a domain name gets any type-in traffic or not. These numbers were being made publicly available by Yahoo!'s Keyword Selection Tool, but not any more. This is what makes this application so special. It will not only show you the score for a large number of domain names and keywords, you won't even need an internet connection to scan them!

What does the tool do?

This application has 3 large pre-loaded databases containing more than 800,000 domain names that had an OVT score in January, February and/or March. It contains domain names with .com/net/org/info/biz/ca extensions. It can scan millions of domain names against the pre-loaded databases and will output the list of domain names that had an OVT score in any of the months January, February and March 2007. Large efforts were put into quality coding and indexing to produce a powerful scanner that would be able to scan a large of domain names fast, without crashing your system. The result is this powerful tool that can literally load and scan multiple millions of domain names within just a few seconds.

Who will find this tool useful?

Backordering exrpiring domain names from drop catchers like SnapNames, NameJet and Pool is a common and very profitable practice among Commercial Registrants (aka Domainers, Domain investors). Hundreds of thousands of domain names expire each day which makes finding good domain names manually practically impossible. Some of the biggest players in the drocatching game have access to data that provide indications about which ones are a good investment and worth backordering, but this kind of data is a closely held secret and only a handful of people had access to it, until now. This is the first time in the history of this practice that such data is made publicly available. Moreover, this application gives its user the ability to filter the large drop lists and find the type-in traffic domain names within seconds and without the need for an internet connection. What makes this tool even more special is that it provides data not only for January, but for February and March 2007! Most of the people who have access to such data have only January data. Less people have access to February and even less have access to March data.
